What warehouse QC can show
Warehouse quality-control photos usually document the item received from the seller. They can help confirm visible color, model, quantity, basic shape, exterior condition and included pieces. They are especially useful for comparing what arrived with the selected marketplace variant.
QC is not the same as laboratory testing or a full product authentication service. Standard photos cannot reliably verify hidden construction, long-term durability, scent, electronics under load, exact material composition or every measurement.
A repeatable QC photo checklist
- Match the order: compare the visible item with the current seller page, selected color, model and quantity.
- Check overall shape: look for obvious distortion, incorrect proportions, crushing or missing parts.
- Inspect visible surfaces: zoom in on stains, scratches, tears, glue marks, broken hardware and uneven printing.
- Review labels and markings: confirm the visible size tag, model code or requested customization where possible.
- Check accessories: compare included laces, straps, cases, cables or detachable parts with the seller description.
- Read warehouse notes: a text warning may explain damage, a difference or a restriction that a photo alone does not show.
When an extra photo or measurement helps
Request extra evidence only when it can answer a clear question. Useful examples include a close-up of a suspected defect, a ruler beside a key dimension, the visible size label, the sole or bottom surface, a serial or model label, or all pieces arranged together.
A vague request such as “check quality” may not produce useful evidence. State what area should be photographed and what you need to confirm. Remember that lighting, camera angle and screen color can affect how shades appear.
What to do when something looks wrong
Do not submit the item for international shipping while a seller return or exchange is being considered. Save the QC images, identify the exact issue and contact support promptly. Seller return eligibility, domestic return postage and deadlines vary by listing and marketplace.
Separate a visible mismatch from personal preference. The wrong color or missing item may support a clearer claim than a minor appearance difference that the seller's terms treat as normal variation.
Understand the limits before shipping
Approval of QC photos means you are choosing to continue based on the available evidence. It does not create a guarantee that the product is authentic, perfectly manufactured, compatible with local standards or free of hidden defects.
For electronics, liquids, batteries, branded goods and fragile items, also check route restrictions before deciding to keep the item. Passing a visual warehouse check does not guarantee that every international carrier will accept it.
Quick answers
Can QC photos prove authenticity?
No. Standard warehouse photos document visible appearance and condition; they are not a professional authentication certificate.
Should I ask for measurements?
Ask when a critical dimension cannot be confirmed from the listing and the platform offers the service. Measurements may still have a small manual tolerance.
Can I return an item after seeing QC?
It depends on the seller's return policy, item type, marketplace rules and the remaining request window. Contact support before parcel submission.
