The two-stage shopping agent model
When you use a China shopping agent, the seller normally ships the item to the agent's warehouse in China first. The agent then prepares a separate international parcel for your destination. This creates two different transactions: the product order and domestic delivery, followed later by international shipping and any optional parcel services.
The first checkout is therefore not always the total delivered cost. Your final cost can also include domestic freight, service or payment fees, packaging choices, international freight, insurance and destination taxes. Use the current Hipobuy checkout and parcel quote as the final price reference.
Step 1: submit the product and place the order
You can begin with a supported marketplace link or a product discovered through a Hipobuy spreadsheet. Review the translated title and variants carefully. If an essential detail is unclear, add a short order note or ask for clarification before payment.
- Open the current product or marketplace page.
- Select the exact variant and quantity.
- Review product price, domestic delivery and available services.
- Pay the first-stage order amount.
- Monitor the order status for seller confirmation or agent questions.
Marketplace stock and prices can change before the agent completes the purchase. If the seller changes the price, reports no stock or cannot meet a request, the order may need confirmation, adjustment or cancellation.
Step 2: seller delivery, warehouse intake and QC
After purchase, the seller sends the item to the assigned China warehouse. Domestic tracking and warehouse intake are separate events: a carrier scan marked delivered does not always mean the item has already been unpacked, identified and stored in your account.
Once stored, review the available QC photos and warehouse information. Confirm the visible color, shape, quantity, selected version and obvious condition. Photos can reveal visible issues, but they cannot prove authenticity, internal construction, material composition or every hidden defect. Request an additional photo or measurement only when it can answer a specific question.
Step 3: consolidate items and submit a parcel
Items from several seller orders may be combined when their route restrictions and storage status allow it. Select the items, choose available packaging services, enter the correct destination address and compare eligible shipping routes.
International freight may use actual weight, volumetric weight or another route-specific billing rule. Removing unnecessary retail packaging can reduce volume, but it can also reduce protection. Balance cost against fragility, moisture risk and the value of the contents.
Step 4: pay international freight and track delivery
After parcel submission, pay the confirmed international shipping charge and keep the parcel number. Tracking may not update at every transfer. Export handling, airline capacity, customs review and local-carrier handoff can each create quiet periods.
Before shipment, save the order pages, QC images, parcel details and declared information. After delivery, photograph the outer box before opening if it appears damaged. Record the unboxing promptly when the contents are valuable or a claim may be necessary.
Quick answers
Why are there two payments?
The first payment covers the marketplace order and related domestic costs. The second covers the international parcel after its weight, dimensions and eligible routes are known.
Can several products ship together?
Often yes, when the items are stored, compatible and allowed by the selected route. Final availability depends on warehouse status and route restrictions.
Where should I confirm current fees and rules?
